This will be within Finance, Group Control T&I
 
Where does the department sit within Liberty Global? What is/are the main projects of this department?
Within Finance we have a separate department taking care of the controlling of the T&I organization. Within T&I the department GDO (Global delivery) takes care of delivery on big product developments around Connectivity, Entertainment and solutions for B2B. Within Entertainment our biggest investment is on the developments of our own entertainment platform including one back office where all content is stored and the integration with the app environment. These projects cover over 100MEUR investments on a yearly basis where we have a dedicated project controller on this. This project controller goes on maternity leave where we expect to have around 6 months backfill needed.
 
Day-to-day key accountabilities
– support governance requests (review business cases, ensure financials are checked, in line with budget and accounting treatment)
– ensure contracts/SOWs are reviewed and approved
– monthly department and project reporting
– monthly closing process
– monthly forecasting process
 
Required skills and knowledge
– pro-active

– background in business economics
– experience in project control
– business partnering skills
– good accounting knowledge on a.o. capitalization rules
– system knowledge, Oracle, Clickview, HFM
Senior: Supervisory/advisory role; Highly specific skillset or technical training; Advanced educational credentials required; Greater prior experience in this role (5+ years)
Summary: Responsible for maximizing return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
Education/Experience: University degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline is required; previous experience in controlling
Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of accounting processes, corporate finance, budgeting; demonstrated ease with Excel and financial software; team/people leadership
 
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
2. Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
3. Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits, providing information to external auditors.
4. Maximize returns, and limit risks, on cash by minimizing bank balances, making investments.
5. Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
6. Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
7. Comply with country and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
