Role description

As an Interim Software Engineer – Quantum Networks, you will contribute to the design, development and validation of QNodeOS, an operating system for quantum nodes within a quantum internet. You will work closely with the Stack Team, combining technical development with agile facilitation. Besides coding, you will support the team as Scrum Master, fostering communication and continuous improvement.

Key tasks

• Design and implement components of the software stack (C++17+, Python).

• Facilitate agile ceremonies and improve team collaboration.

• Integrate and validate software with experimental setups.

• Support team communication and promote a culture of open feedback.

• Deliver well-tested, functional software modules integrated into QNodeOS.

• Agile ceremonies executed smoothly, contributing to effective sprint cycles.

• Improved collaboration and communication within the team.

• Validated software functionality in real experimental environments.

 

 

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player.
• Skilled in C++ (C++17+), Python, TDD, CI/CD, Docker, GitLab.
• Experience in multidisciplinary, cross-organizational environments.
• Certified Scrum Master (preferred).
• Interest in quantum technology and willingness to learn.

 

Assignment details

• Duration: 6 months, extension possible.
• Start: October 1st, 2025 (or sooner if available).
• Hours: 32–38 per week.
• Location: 60% on site (Tuesdays & Thursdays standard, other days flexible).
• Rate: max. €70/hour.
• Deadline for CV submission: September 8th, 2025, 13:00.
